Operating rules of computer rooms

Operating rules regulate the conditions of use of computer rooms with free access managed by SVTI FEL (No. 404).

  1. Study rooms are designed for students of FEE and may be used only for study and work related tasks.
  2. When entering students have to show a valid CTU student card.
  3. Study rooms are opened according to schedule placed at the entrance.
  4. Users of study rooms are obliged to respect the "rules of using the CTU network", which are stated in CTU Rector's command No.8/99.
  5. Users are also required to:
    1. come to the computer rooms in clean shoes, leave their coats and bulky items outside of the room
    2. before starting work, check the state of PC and report hardware or software problems to the staff
    3. adhere to the rules of health and safety at work and fire safety principles
    4. follow the instructions of staff
    5. keep quiet and not disturb other users of study room
  6. Users are prohibited from:
    1. staying in study rooms outside their working hours
    2. making any changes to the installed hardware and software and connecting any devices to power or data network
    3. using equipment of study rooms for purposes not related to the study
    4. eating, drinking and smoking in computer rooms
  7. Violations of operating rules:
    1. Respecting the rules of operation is controlled by staff. If any user finds the violation of operating rules, he is obligated to notify staff.
    2. In the case of minor offenses (failure to paragraph 5), the student can continue working in the study room after their correcting.
    3. In case of violation of the rules of operation in paragraph 6, user will be banished from the study room and his access to the room will be denied for 24 hours.

    If the user repeatedly violates the rules of operation or refuses to comply with instructions of staff, staff will notify the SVTI. User's access to the study rooms will be denied for two weeks. Director of SVTI will inform the Dean for Educational Affairs about the reasons for the ban.

    (Note: According to the Regulations of the Central Library of CTU - FEE, paragraph 2, the user will also be denied access to computer rooms for not returning books after the third reminder, until the user returns books.)

  8. Exceptions to the rules of operation are possible only on the basis of a written statement of the dean of the faculty or dean for educational affairs.

This operating procedure shall come into effect on November 29th, 2004, and may be supplemented by additions that will be published together with the operating rules in the study room and on websites.
